Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Mike Keohane Message: I remember one late ice storm in 1960. We had already switched into our spring clothing and were in the middle of the last big patrol of the course. The weather was so bad, all operations were canceled and the patrols and aggressor forces were called back to camp. My job was to round up the stragglers - mainly missing students. Driving around in an open jeep with a driver over dirt tracks covered with ice and stopping every once in a while to move tree limbs off the track was not pleasant. Yet, we managed to locate everybody and get them all back to the RMC without a single casualty. Then the cadre went back out to assist the civil authorities in rescuing civilians in the surrounding area. We all earned our pay and the graditude of many Lumpkin County families during that period. |

He is peeved because no one responded to his question after it was posted. I guess that there is no mechanism in place to answer questions on this site. This is partially my fault since Ron asked me how to go about nominating a Ranger for this honor. I told him that I wasn't certain and that if he posted his request on this site, someone would answer. So much for ASSUMPTION! Bob |

The article didn't mention Tom being a RHOF inductee. Kudos to Tom. (If I can remember, I will bring the article to our April meeting. RLTW |
