Apparently the leg is not getting better. I do not have the room number but if you call NEGMC I'm sure they can get you in contact with him. When I get more info I will post. |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Mark Jordan Message: USMRA October 2013 Meeting ...nearing the Ranger Memorial Dedication at Camp Merrill this Monday, I use the minutes as a reminder and advertisement for upcoming events...there may be more than 100 present, and there may be needs for more members to facilitate the visitors...please be sober... somewhat coherent... ...out on the back porch of The OverHang, a fine evening coming upon Mosby and the Etowah, Al Parten, VP, had spent quite some time getting the event organized, preparing his delicious beer brats while Mike Keohane brought some delicious low country boil...Willard Langdon, Chaplain, has managed to have been on speaking terms again with his wife and a fine, mouth watering pan of banana pudding was added while Chuck Windham's award winning baked beans made our quaint and humble fare surpass the feasts of kings and world leaders...(those other than the ones present already)... ...Steve Hawk, President, asks Willard to begin us with a prayer which is delivered in that sincere fashion we appreciate so much in him... ...next Steve asks for the bumbling Secretary or Treasurer report...given quickly by Lt Fuzz so as to properly drop back out of sight taking notes...freakin' butterbar bozos like Bob Bischoff, past manager of the club...we have money but not as much as we did last month...the exact penny was given at the meeting but opsec requires that I am not to be precise in the minutes...thank you Bob Williams, Editor at Large... ...I didn't write down Julio's number for the merc suicide the other day when Al alerted me to the abuse of our website and since he, the generous man, guaranteed all that stuff I thought maybe some of us might not want to raise some funds for the association...likely our webmaster has ideas for wrestling funds... ...J.D.Kirby next provides an excellent detailed scenario of our upcoming Memorial Dedication...our uniform is navy blazer, white open shirt, no tie and khaki pants...those speaking such as J.D. and Brian Cunningham and Keith Antonio, members of our Historical Committee, will be restrained in tight necks... ...parking up Black Farms Road and in the Church across from the gate...set up on 27 Oct with Steve Hawk offering the assistance of LCHS Jr ROTC cadets as needed...Chuck Windham monitoring the MRA table with Lt Fuzz on an idiot chord so coins, pins, and donations might happen... ...could be big...Old CCO T shirts maybe?...do we want to make this look like an Ellijay yard sale or will we honor the moment as sacred for all those present and those unable to attend?...(how much you think those bright yellow ones could go for?...15 at least)... ...anyway, there was a notice made earlier on the message board about the event, at 11:00 this Monday Morning...please attend if you're able to in person but if not, we will know you're present in spirit too... ...April 20 is the Porter Village Easter Egg Hunt this next year, as Chris Fuller, Club Manager provided that info...we will do better than last year folks...Chris, Steve, Mike (Mountain) and Fuzz...did it... not cool... ...Steve asked Chris about the needs for the turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas... Chris remembered Amie Close and Roy's personal generosity in providing so many last year, more than 25 I think along with another 8 by local merchants such as our good friend, Wal Mart...the thought is that twenty are probably needed this year... ...Steve asks Bob Williams, POC for Manuel's 5 million bullion, if he has anything to add and thankfully Bob adds a thread of intelligence to a rather basic expression of communal counsel... ...Bob was with Cecil Sager when Cecil briefed J.D. Kirby, then Camp CO, about a contingency plan for adverse conditions by answering his question, "Sgt Sager, what is your contingency plan for inclement weather?"...Cecil answered, "Sir, we are going to react."...twice!... same question same answer... ..."Come back when you have a plan Sgt Sager."...ah, you love these moments all your life...Doug Perry added that he was the Tac NCO and BillyHardbody Olds his Tac Officer...good to have Doug back and healthy again... ...Bob then went on to explain about how and why we have had difficulty with submissions for the Ranger Hall of Fame, particularly because our membership requirements don't require a DD-214...(if we back you, that will be required in the future, although it's good to check for sure that you are given all due recognition for schools, service and awards)... ...Bob includes accurate information via Bob Bischoff and Art McCann to Bob Dawes and Gen Kiernan that we, being 90% of WAR, can certainly make our own nominations for the Ranger Hall of Fame...Doug Perry added that since a few RHOF members are also our members we could directly forward names for selection without going thru any filters by others (mentioned but not reported)...Bob agrees that is what we, as an organization, want to do; be on the list for direct submissions of nominations... ...Bob Dawes was mentioned by a few members as coming to the dedication and we might be able to talk with him about these matters concerning our own direction with the Ranger Hall of Fame... ...Bob Suchke gave a coin report and a plug for the Dawsonville Moonshine Festival going on now, this weekend...Doug Perry says Esther is charging $4 more in the PX so Bob endorses City Liquor in downtown Dawsonville, along with over 300 locations statewide where one might purchase such a concoction...Chuck Windham had a bottle signed that very night that was auctioned for $70 at a recent event for old sergeants... ...adjournment made, food eaten, those not in attendance were talked about...all real Rangers present... ...addendum please...why not have breakfast this Monday at 8am in the Mess Hall and have meeting for November right after?...bring your fancy stuff to change into so you can get coffee, egg yolk and gravy on your overalls ahead of time...and then we get to park near too...Al says me and him are all that's needed since Doug Perry said a meeting needs three officers so if we're there, and of course Steve too...Tedro is coming up with Bishop...heck, we only need banana pudding for dessert!... ...just a thought...Steve can't vote... ...Bullet Bob is busy today with being useful so if any needs contact information for Bob Suchke, he is not wanting his cell phone published... ...respectfully submitted... ...Lt Fuzz, aide de camp...RLTW... |
