Message: Alan, I'm sure there's a lot I don't know. One thing I regret is that I don't live close enough to attend the monthly meetings. However, this is something that comes up every year and might bear further discussion. Thanks for the comment and discussion.

There are many thing to look at when making this move. The main one is those of us from other states would then have to choose which one to attend. Not trying to say Mike is wrong, just another thing to think about on this subject when making a decision.

Message: I regret that I could only make the Fish Fry this year. Due to personal circumstances, I couldn't be there for the big day. I can say that the Fish Fry was great. I got to see a lot of great people and also ate some excellent fish. I have one question though, which has come up before. Why can't we have our event at a time WITHOUT being the same weekend as the Open House? Answers in the past have always gone back to the Camp Commander's demands. However, we have gone through a lot of commanders and it seems that something might have changed. Couldn't we have the CCO on a weekend of a different cycle break. We're off to the side, so we don't get in the way. We wouldn't have to fight the traffic and crowds. One of the best times we ever had was when we had the CCO without having to compete with the Open House. Couldn't we do that again? It just seems that if someone in USMRA leadership approached the current commander the right way, this would be easy to do. All the best to everyone and I look forward to seeing you next year. RLTW!!!

Message: What an open house and cookout this weekend at Camp Merrill! With the fish fry and the cookout, we fed over 300 folks. Weather was fantastic again this year. So many contributed to the success, and I think we did quite well thanks to the contributions we received prior to each meal.

So many to thank. I know I will miss some one, but here goes. To those who donate the game, they make it possible. Those who do the work, it would not happen without their help. The Gary Head family who provides the equipment, the help, and even meat for the event. Kenny also cooks breakfast for the Rangers sleeping over! My daughter, grand daughter, and son-in law for help and support. Bear and Tom on the cooking pots. Mashall Huckaby and his brother. Mike Keohane for his efforts. What some great dishes they put together for the folks. The Overhead Club for their contributions and support. Teddy Bear for keeping the funds rolling in by strong arming the eaters at both events. So many work to make it successful.

Last, I want to thank the Association for the support and trust placed in me to do such and important event for our members, quests, and the entire Ranger Family. It is a great experience. RLTW
