Message: Hey Rocky, Glad to see you are still kicking... As for the critter cook out I'm the one that brought this up. I feel like we had gotten away from the real reason for the CCO in the first place and that was for us Rangers to get together and enjoy each others' company. If you have it at the Club there are too many distractions. Also the strap hangers eat up all the food. The end of the air strip sounds like a great place to me and it should be the same day as the open house. There was a lot of discusion about whether ladies should be allowed. I don't care, but if they come they should have the proper equipment flack vest and helment. When Roger starts telling war stories a lot of shrapnel fliess around... Doug, remember the Hero helment we had at the club?

Message: Is that spot above the church big enough, you know it used to be the dump but was covered up and grass planted. I know coppers land there from time to time and it is hidden from the public. I am pretty sure most campers will get in there. Just my suggestion, Rangers can be Rangers there and still be close enough for everyone to visit the club, open house or whatever they want. Sorry I butted in, but better you guys use the spot instead of someone else. God bless all of you! I love you guys!

Message: Three overriding considerations for the Critter Cookout. One, reduce or negate the riff-raff walk-ons (wives are up to you). Two, be able to access civilization with relative ease. Three, make it the same day as the Open House for as many Rangers to get there as possible. One conclusion. The Key at the end of the airfield. Penn Cove is great, but parking is a real problem, as is getting monster RVs out there. The Key is easy for Rangers to get to, hard for civilians, it's close to home, and it's got great parking, plenty of trees and a big open area. Not Penn Cove, but not bad, either. My two cents.

Message: One weekend is about the same as another to me. The open house doesn't have much for me, so the main thing for me is the critter cookout. That's the thing I look forward to. Location isn't all that important to me either, just as long as I can find it. All I care about is the opportunity to see some people that mean a lot to me.
